For many of us, the New Year often starts with making promises to ourselves to go ‘dry’ or participate in ‘Veganuary’. These kinds of radical changes are rarely sustained beyond January – we say we don’t have time or resources but really we fail because we do not change the underlying behavioural patterns.

It is a natural phenomenon of being human that we are driven to want more, to need more. However, most of us seek this externally. We drive for the next promotion, the bigger house, the bigger car etc. Often this leads to feelings of anxiety, stress and general unhappiness or lack of contentment for what we already have. Rarely do we look inwards to deal with these general feelings of ‘lack’.

However, deep down within our soul is the true essence of who we are. It’s often buried under layers of societal conditioning, trauma or day to day dramas. But when we work to improve ourselves, rather than force a binary change, personal transformation occurs more naturally and in a more sustainable way.
